Being in a warm and friendly environment you will spend a memorable day in the sea and we will be very glad to share our knowledge about the cultural and historical heritage of the Gulf of Alghero. We fluently speak Italian, English, German and Russian. For groups of 5 people and more you can request a complementary tour guide in French and Spanish! Places To Visit: - Bastions of Alghero: - Alghero is one of the few Italian fortress cities that have preserved about 70% of its walls with adjacent towers. You have a unique opportunity not only to walk along the walls surrounding Alghero, but also to admire them and to capture on the camera the panorama of Alghero from board of our “Ares”! And we, in turn, will tell you the most fascinating stories and legends associated with the bastions of Alghero. - Punto Giglio: - Punta Giglio is a cape that owes its name to a wonderful flower. “Giglio” in Italian means “lily”. And the cape is literally covered with lilies! Punta Giglio is part of the protected natural area of Capo Caccia – Isola Piana. This is an ideal place for snorkelling and diving! - Capo Caccia: - Cape Caccia is an impressive calcareous rock in the north-west of Sardinia, where at the moment 14 caves were found, half of which are under water. - The cape is in the Gulf of Alghero and, together with the Punta Giglio cape, encircles the large bay of Porto Conte. On top of the cape there is a meteorological station and a lighthouse, which due to its high position (186 meters above sea level) is considered to be one of the most notable in Italy (visible from a distance of about 34 miles). - Its name, which in translation from Italian means “Hunting Cape”, the rock got from hunting pigeons, popular in the 19th century among noble persons, that were usually hunting in periods of calm, being right in the boat. From the top of the cape you can see the gulf of Alghero and the nearest island of Foradada. This is one of the most beautiful and charming panoramas of the island. - Foradada Island: - It is a small uninhabited island, made of limestone rock and located on the west side of the vertical cliffs of Capo Caccia. The name in the local catalan dialect means “drilled” being actually crossed at sea level from side to side by a large cave carved by the sea. The island of Foradada is a protected area, as starting from April thousands of gulls come here to make their nests. And in June you can admire the hundreds of baby gulls who learn to fly. Also, this island is the only place where peregrine come to perch their nests. - Porto Conte: The Porto Conte Regional Park is also a protected area, where you can find Lake Baraz, the only natural lake in Sardinia, and often the territory of the reserve is called “Noah’s Ark”. This place is popular among tourists for trekking and is rich in numerous historical monuments of the Second World War. Our Menu: Appetizers: - 2 hours after departure you will be offered: - Refreshing drinks - Snacks (choice of freshly baked breads, fresh vegetable platter, seasoned olives, selection of local cold meats and cheeses, seasonal fruits) - After you have enjoyed the sun and the see and have seen the beauty of the Gulf of Alghero, we will stop in a small lagoon for lunch! Lunch onboard Ares: - Primo - Pasta with fresh tomatoes and Bottarga - Secondo - Seabream “Alla pizzaiola” - Dessert - Coffee - Local choice liquors (Mirto, Limoncello) - Sardinian sweets - Seasonal fruits - The lunch will be served together with Sardinian beer, local wines (white, red), refreshing drinks and water.
