The F/V Black Diamond is a 48′ Egg Harbor that was built in 1974 and is outfitted with 2 8V71 Detroit Diesel Engines. She is no stranger to the Southern California Sportfishing scene as she has been a 6-pack charter boat for the last 10 years in Long Beach, CA. We decided to keep her reputation going and brought her down to San Diego. Current amenities onboard include a full galley, large salon/lounging area, 2 bunk rooms, 2 full bathrooms with showers, and a newly renovated cockpit for fishing. She is also outfitted with 2 large 110 gallon bait tanks that comfortable holds 10 scoops of bait, tackle center, tuna tower, and desalination center. Fishing Trips The bottom line is to go and catch fish. So we’ll be sure to contact you a week before your charter to give our recommendations on what we should do and where we should go to make that happen. Typically for 1/2 day, 3/4 day and 1 day trips, we often will stay local and fish off the kelp beds, go for rock fish, or go out to the Coronado Islands. For every other trip, we will definitely get you out towards the tuna grounds. Summer Rates (March to October) 1/2 Day Trip (AM-5am-Noon/PM-1pm-8pm): $1,500 1-Day Trip (5am-5pm): $2,750 Overnight Trip: $3,300 1.5 Day Trip: $4,200 2-Day Trip: $5,500 2.5 Day Trip: $6,600 Winter Rates (November to February) 1/2 Day Local Rock Fishing (AM-6am-Noon/PM-1pm-6pm): $1,000* *Good until the December 31st Rockfish Closure 3/4 Day Coronado Islands (5am-5pm): $2,000 For every fishing charter, all meals, snacks, fish filleting, and Mexican fishing licenses are included in the price. This is done so that once you step on our boat, you won’t have to worry about anything other than catching fish. *Tips for the crew are not required, but are greatly appreciated. We ask that you consider the same method used while dining out, 15-20% of the trip cost. Our boat has LOTS of room for everybody, so we can accommodate as many as 6 people on one single trip. If you can’t fill up all 6 spots, be sure to let us know so we can help fill them for you. Additional Trips We also offer a few other packages for those that aren’t quite into fishing. Harbor Cruises/Private Gatherings: $250/hour Whale Watching (3 Hours): $750 Catalina/San Clemente Islands: Please Inquire through GetMyBoat Food and drinks can be provided for an addition fee. We do recommend that each party bring their own alcohol onboard. We’ve got plenty of space to store it, we just can’t sell it. Our boat is also available for multi-day charters exploring all of the Channel Islands off of the Southern California coast.
